WHAT IS THE IBCP?
The IB Career-Related Programme ("CP") is an innovative educational framework adopted by the International Baccalaureate Organization ("IBO") in 2012 and implemented at Lincoln Park High School in 2014. According to the IBO, the aim of the CP is to provide students with an excellent foundation to support their further studies, specialized training, and success in the workforce. The CP recognizes the need to prepare students for the complex demands and skills required of graduating students. It thus combines highly regarded and internationally recognized IB Diploma Program courses with an approved career-related study and a unique CP core. CP students engage with a rigorous study program that genuinely interests them while gaining transferable and lifelong skills in applied knowledge, critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural engagement. As the IB's fourth program, the CP provides a comprehensive educational framework that links the academic rigor of the Diploma Progamme and the international-mindedness of the IB classroom into a tailored, career-focused pathway.
